Sometimes vinyl siding can be installed over existing siding, but it depends on the condition and type of what’s already there. If your current siding is flat, solid, and in good condition, installation over it might be possible and can save on labor costs.
However, installing over existing siding can create problems if the underlying material is damaged, warped, or retaining moisture. It also adds thickness that can interfere with windows, doors, and trim work. In many cases, removing the old siding gives better results and allows us to inspect and repair the underlying structure.
We evaluate each situation individually during our free consultation. If your existing siding needs to come off, we handle removal and disposal as part of the project. Our goal is to recommend the approach that gives you the best long-term results, even if it means a bit more work upfront.
