You stop worrying about water damage creeping behind your walls. Your heating bill drops because the house actually holds temperature. And you’re not repainting, recaulking, or replacing boards every few years.
That’s what happens when siding is installed right the first time. Not just nailed up fast, but integrated with your roofing, gutters, and flashing so water goes where it’s supposed to—away from your house.
Most siding problems don’t start with bad material. They start with shortcuts during installation. A missed step around a window. Improper flashing at the corners. No attention to ventilation. You don’t see it until the damage is done.
We’ve been doing exterior work in Suffolk County for over 35 years. We know what fails here and why. And we know how to build systems that don’t.
SkyLuxe Construction is a family-run operation that’s completed over 2,000 exterior projects across Suffolk County. We’re not a crew that showed up last year when the market got hot. We’ve been here through multiple housing cycles, weather events, and material innovations.
Northampton sits right on Wildwood Lake with mature trees and a mix of architectural styles—ranch homes, log cabins, Minimal Traditionals. That variety means there’s no one-size-fits-all approach. Your siding needs to match your home’s structure, your budget, and how you actually use the space.
We’re licensed, insured, and we don’t subcontract the work to strangers. When you hire us, you get our crew. Same people, start to finish.
We start with an on-site assessment. Not a quick glance from the driveway—an actual inspection of your current siding, sheathing, flashing, and trim. We’re looking for hidden damage, structural issues, and anything that’ll cause problems later if ignored now.
Then we walk you through material options. Vinyl, fiber cement, engineered wood—they all have different costs, maintenance needs, and lifespans. We’ll tell you what works for your home and your budget without upselling you on features you don’t need.
Once you approve the plan, we handle permits and scheduling. Installation starts with proper prep—removing old siding, repairing sheathing, installing moisture barriers, and upgrading insulation if needed. Then we install the new siding with attention to flashing, ventilation, and expansion gaps. Every seam matters.
Final walkthrough happens with you, not your voicemail. We make sure you understand what was done, what to expect, and how to maintain it. Then we clean up and leave your property the way we found it.

You get a full siding system—not just boards nailed to your house. That means proper moisture barriers, integrated flashing around windows and doors, ventilation that prevents trapped moisture, and trim work that actually seals the edges.
We handle fiber cement, vinyl, engineered wood, and composite materials. If your project involves coordinating with roofing or gutter work, we manage that too. It’s easier to do it all at once than to patch things together later and hope the warranties don’t conflict.
Northampton homes deal with specific challenges. You’re near the water, so salt exposure accelerates wear. You’ve got mature trees, which means shade, moss, and debris accumulation. And Suffolk County gets temperature swings that cause expansion and contraction—your siding needs to be installed with that in mind.
We also work with your timeline. Most siding projects here take one to two weeks depending on size and complexity. We’ll give you a realistic schedule upfront and we’ll stick to it. No disappearing for days. No surprise delays.
Most full siding replacements in Northampton run between $15,000 and $35,000 depending on your home’s size, material choice, and how much prep work is needed. Vinyl is the most affordable. Fiber cement costs more upfront but lasts longer and holds up better in coastal conditions.
Here’s what affects price: square footage, number of stories, trim complexity, and whether we’re also fixing sheathing or insulation underneath. If your home has a lot of custom angles, bay windows, or decorative details, that adds labor time.
We don’t give ballpark estimates over the phone. Every house is different. We’ll come out, measure, inspect, and give you a written quote that breaks down material, labor, and any additional work. No surprises later.
Fiber cement performs best in Northampton’s environment. It doesn’t rot, it resists moisture better than wood, and it holds up to salt exposure and temperature swings without warping. It’s also fire-resistant and doesn’t attract pests.
Vinyl is a solid second choice if budget is tight. Modern vinyl has come a long way—it’s more durable, fade-resistant, and energy-efficient than older versions. It won’t rot or need painting. But it can crack in extreme cold and it expands and contracts more than fiber cement.
Engineered wood looks great and costs less than real wood, but it requires more maintenance near the water. If you don’t keep up with sealing and painting, moisture will get in. For most homeowners here, fiber cement or vinyl makes more sense long-term.
Most homes take one to two weeks from start to finish. Smaller ranch-style homes might be done in a week. Larger two-story homes with complex trim work can take closer to three weeks.
Weather affects the timeline. We don’t install siding in heavy rain or freezing temperatures because moisture and adhesion issues can compromise the job. If we hit a stretch of bad weather, we’ll pause and pick back up when conditions are right.
We’ll give you a schedule before we start and we’ll update you if anything changes. You’ll know when we’re arriving, when we’re working, and when we’re wrapping up. Most of the work happens outside, so you can still live in your home without major disruption.
Not always, but it often makes sense. If both are near the end of their lifespan, doing them together saves money and avoids the hassle of two separate projects. You’re already paying for scaffolding, permits, and labor setup—might as well handle everything at once.
There’s also a practical reason: siding and roofing overlap at the edges. If you replace your roof first and then do siding later, we have to work around the new roof and risk voiding warranties. If you do siding first and roof later, same problem in reverse.
We’ve done over 2,000 exterior projects in Suffolk County. When it makes sense to combine work, we’ll tell you. When it doesn’t, we’ll tell you that too. The goal is to save you money and headaches, not to upsell you on work you don’t need yet.
Check if they’re licensed and insured in New York. Ask for references from recent projects in Suffolk County. And pay attention to how they communicate—if they’re hard to reach before the job starts, they’ll be impossible to reach once they have your deposit.
Avoid contractors who push for full payment upfront or who offer prices that seem way too low. Lowball estimates usually mean they’re cutting corners on materials, labor, or prep work. You’ll pay for it later in repairs.
Look at how long they’ve been in business locally. A contractor who’s been serving the same area for decades has a reputation to protect. We’ve been doing this in Suffolk County for over 35 years. Our work is our reference. If we mess up, everyone knows. That keeps us honest.
Vinyl and fiber cement need very little. Rinse them once or twice a year with a garden hose to remove dirt, pollen, and salt buildup. Check your caulking around windows and doors every few years and reapply if it’s cracking. Keep gutters clean so water doesn’t overflow onto the siding.
If you have fiber cement, inspect the paint every 10 to 15 years. It’ll last longer than wood, but it’s not maintenance-free forever. Touch up any chips or scratches to prevent moisture from getting in.
For homes near Wildwood Lake, watch for moss or algae growth on north-facing walls that don’t get much sun. A soft brush and mild detergent will clean it off. Don’t use a pressure washer on high settings—it can damage the surface and force water behind the siding. Low pressure is fine.
